Welcome to the Heating and Cooling Headquarters. This blog will be devoted to, well, heating and cooling and all associated subjects.
If you’ve been watching the news you don’t need us to tell you that oil prices have reached all time highs this year. The economy is in a frightening downward spiral and, as of this writing, we’re comfortably entrenched in Fall with Winter rapidly approaching.
Families are facing tough decisions on all economic fronts and, if you haven’t already kicked the heater on, it won’t be long before you do. The brief lull in elevated heating and cooling bills during these more tolerable temperatures will soon be coming to an end (if it hasn’t already). That means cranking up the thermostat a bit and that means bigger bills.
People are looking for more cost effective heating alternatives. “Cheaper solutions” is our battle cry. We’re eying those space heaters at the hardware store and wondering if they might not represent savings over the central air we usually rely on.
Heating and Cooling HQ will try to take the guesswork out of the equation. Though we will focus on cooling related topics as well, the approach of winter here in our native northern hemisphere means our first efforts will deal primarily with heating. Look forward to creative and money saving solutions, product discussion and reviews, and as much insight as we can provide to help you make smart, safe, thrifty and efficient decisions.
Stay tuned for our next posts in which we’ll begin with proper insulation before moving on to portable heating options and thanks for stopping by the Heating and Cooling Headquarters.
